1939-S/S CONECA #: DDO-001, 1-O-II-C
1953-D/D Lincoln Cent. This is one of the CONECA top 100. CONECA RPM-001. FS-501 Secondary D west.
Die cracks typical of many Lincoln Cents from the 1950's.
The 1955 Poor Man's double die Lincoln Cent is not a double die; it is a polishing error. Some people collect these as error, but they are not really an error. The thickness in the second five is from die use and polishing.
1960-D/D Large over Small Date. Note the small 0 extended above the large 0, the thinner D above and to the left of the original D. Doubling in also noticeable at the top of the 1, and all around the 9.
1969-S Not a Doubled Die. The images below show machine doubling. This is caused by the dies bouncing with the coin in between the the dies. The coin is stamped and immediately stamped again. The results are a coin that looks much like a doubled die, but there are no splits in the serifs, and the mint mark is doubled in the same manner.
1972 DDO FS-033.52 DIE 2 Lincoln Cent
Note the rotation. the second hubbing is counter clockwise. There is very little spread on the date. Nice spread on LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST.

1995 DDO FS-101 Double Die Lincoln Cent
Easily visible on IN GOD and LIBERTY.
1858 Double Date FS-301 Seated Half Dime
1858 Inverted Date FS-302 Seated Half Dime
A bit hard to see compared to the double date above. Look at the tail of the right side of the digit one which is part of the inverted 8.
1930 DDR FS-801. The easiest place to see the doubling is on the front of the front leg (the leg to the right).
1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel
1955-D/S Jefferson Nickel
1942 P Proof DDR
The serifs on all most of the letters throughout the reverse are split. Other letters also show the splits.
1928-S Large S FS-101
The S is very fat and much larger than the normal S. Two examples shown below.
1929-S DDO FS-101 Mercury Dime
The three example examined by us have all had die clashing in front of Miss Liberty's face in the eye and nose area.

1931-D DDO FS-101 Mercury Dime
Note the split at the top of the first one and the base of the nine.
1931-S DDO FS-101 Mercury Dime
Very similar to the Denver coin from this year look at the top of the one and the base of the nine.
1935-S/S FS-501
A very tough variety to locate. Look for the extra loop or mark under the mint mark.
1936-S FS-110 Mercury Dime
The first coin is a high AU grade coin the second coin is a later die state circulated coin. Notice the mark to the bottom left of the numeral 9. That is the easiest marker to find while searching for one of these. The two coins were found within three weeks of each other after searching for two years.
A third coin is now added which seems to be an in between die state. There is die polishing on the obverse in front and behind Miss Liberty to a fairly large extent, but the under-date is more clear than the second coin.
1937-D DDO FS-101 Mercury Dime
The splits are easily seen on the serif of the one and the base of the nine. The complete date shows doubling.
1939 DDO-003, 3-O-VI Mercury Dime
In our search for variety coins we found a coin in which we are listed for the Discovery. We have found a few circulated examples, so look for this one and you may find one on your journey. Our discovery is a type IV (6) which is a distorted hub doubling.

1940-SSSS FS-501 Mercury dime
This dime boasts a set of four repunched mint marks (RPMs). One of the easy coin varieties to spot.
1941-S Dime -- Die Gouge in Date.
This coin is also the Large S (Large S is shown in the Variety Resource Dime page).
1941-S DDR FS-801 Mercury Dime
This is a tough one. The doubling is extremely hard to see in E.PLURIBUNS.UNUM. A better place to look would be at the bottom of the letters ME of DIME, the tops and centers of the letters in AMERICA, and the top of the star.
1942/41 & 1942/41-D Close ups.
1942/41 Mercury Dime FS-101 (010.7)

1942/41-D Mercury Dime FS-101 (010.8)

1975-S/S Proof Roosevelt Dime FS-501 CONECA RPM2
1945-D/Horizontal D
Another rare one. These seem to be tough in any grade. Check for the loop on the left side of the mint mark. A powerful magnifying Glass is required.

1964 FS-801 Washington Quarter.
Heavy doubling on QUARTER DOLLAR.
